CHERRY ANGIOMAS

Cherry Angioma Treatment in Stoke-on-Trent

What Are Cherry Angiomas?
Cherry angiomas are small, bright red or purple skin growths made up of clusters of tiny blood vessels. Often appearing as smooth, round bumps on the surface of the skin, they can develop anywhere on the body most commonly on the torso, arms, and shoulders. While they are completely harmless and non-cancerous, many people choose to remove them for cosmetic reasons, especially if they increase in size, number, or become irritated.

What Causes Cherry Angiomas?
Cherry angiomas are most commonly linked to ageing, typically appearing after the age of 30. Genetics play a significant role, meaning you're more likely to develop them if they run in your family. Other possible triggers include hormonal changes, sun exposure, and certain medical conditions or medications. They are not usually associated with any health risks.

Can We Treat Cherry Angiomas?
Yes! Our Lynton Excelight IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) system is highly effective at safely removing cherry angiomas. It works by targeting the blood vessels within the angioma, causing it to shrink and gradually fade away. Most clients see significant improvement after just one or two sessions, with minimal discomfort and downtime.

How Does IPL Work?

If you’re looking for expert treatment for cherry angiomas in Stoke-on-Trent (Newcastle-under-Lyme), Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) therapy offers a safe, non-invasive solution to remove these small, red skin growths and restore a smoother, clearer complexion. At The Laser Lounge UK, we use advanced, NHS-approved IPL technology to target and eliminate cherry angiomas with precision and minimal discomfort.

IPL works by delivering controlled pulses of light energy into the skin, which is absorbed by the blood vessels that make up the angioma. This energy gently heats the vessels, causing them to break down. Over time, the body naturally reabsorbs and eliminates these broken vessels through the lymphatic system, resulting in the angioma fading or disappearing entirely.

As the treated area heals, the skin appears more even and refined. IPL not only removes existing cherry angiomas but also helps to stimulate collagen production, improving overall skin texture and resilience. Most clients notice visible improvement after just one treatment, with little to no downtime.

Book your FREE skin consultation today and take the first step towards restoring a flawless, even-toned complexion.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at thelaserloungeuk@hotmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

IPL skin treatments using the Lynton Excelight system are suitable for a variety of skin concerns, including Acne, Rosacea, Thread Veins, Pigmentation and Fine Lines and Wrinkles.

Most Skin Types can benefit from IPL, but suitability depends on factors such as your specific skin type, tone, and concern. During your consultation, our experienced practitioner will assess your skin and medical history to determine if IPL is the right treatment for you. While IPL is highly effective for many, it may not be suitable for darker skin tones or certain conditions, so a personalised assessment is essential to ensure safe and effective results.

The number of treatments you require depends on the type of treatment you choose. The recommended number of sessions are as follows:

Thread Veins = 1 - 3 sessions

Immediately after IPL skin treatment, it's normal for the skin to appear slightly red, similar to a mild sunburn, and feel warm to the touch. Some clients may experience mild swelling, especially in more sensitive areas, which typically subsides within a few hours. When treating conditions like thread veins and rosacea, slight bruising or swelling may also occur, but these effects are usually temporary and fade within a few days.

Your skin may feel a bit dry or sensitive following the treatment, so keeping it well-moisturised and protected is key. For best results, avoid direct sun exposure, apply SPF 30 or higher daily, and steer clear of harsh skincare products, such as retinoids or exfoliants, for at least 48 hours post-treatment.

These mild side effects are short-lived, and as your skin settles over the following weeks, you'll begin to notice a clearer, calmer, and more radiant complexion.

We do not recommend laser or IPL treatments if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. While there is no conclusive evidence to suggest that these treatments are harmful during pregnancy or breastfeeding, the hormonal changes in your body can make your skin more sensitive and prone to adverse reactions, such as irritation or pigmentation changes.

For your safety and the safety of your baby, it is best to wait until after pregnancy and breastfeeding before starting laser or IPL treatments. We encourage you to book a consultation after this period to discuss your options and create a treatment plan tailored to your needs.

Our award-winning Lynton Excelight IPL system is highly effective for treating flat cherry angiomas and other vascular lesions by targeting the blood vessels beneath the skin’s surface. However, for raised cherry angiomas which protrude above the skin, IPL may have limited results, as these lesions often sit deeper and are more resistant to light-based treatments.

In these cases, we may recommend alternative approaches such as electrocautery, cryotherapy, or laser treatments like Nd:YAG, which are better suited for removing fully raised angiomas. During your consultation, we’ll assess your skin and advise on the most effective and safe treatment option tailored to your needs.

At The Laser Lounge UK, your results and safety are our top priority, and we’ll always ensure you receive the most appropriate treatment for your skin concern.

IPL is a safe and effective treatment for reducing the appearance of cherry angiomas, those small, bright red spots caused by clusters of blood vessels near the skin’s surface.

Using targeted pulses of light, IPL breaks down the blood vessels within the angioma, allowing the body to naturally absorb and eliminate them over time. This results in a clearer, more even skin tone with minimal discomfort and downtime.

While IPL delivers long-lasting results for existing cherry angiomas, it doesn’t prevent new ones from forming. To maintain your results and minimise the risk of future angiomas, it’s important to follow proper aftercare, protect your skin from excessive sun exposure, and manage common triggers where possible.

Due to Lynton's Advanced Technology our IPL treatments are relatively pain-free. No anaesthesia is required, however we do apply a cool gel to help maintain comfort. People often describe the sensation like the flick on an elastic band. We are able to change our machine settings at any point so that the treatment feels right for you.
