Our Laser Hair Removal machine works by delivering intense pulses of light onto the skin. The light energy emitted by the laser is absorbed by the pigment melanin in the hair follicle, where it is converted into heat energy. The heat energy causes irreversible damage to the hair follicle without damaging the surrounding area, preventing the hairs from growing back.

For Laser Hair Removal to be effective, hairs must be caught in their active growth phase. This is when the hair shaft is attached to the root. At any one time our hairs be in any of the 3 hair growth stages:

The Telogen 'Resting/Shedding Phase'

This is why multiple sessions are required to capture all the hairs at the right stage (The Active Growth Phase). Typically 6 to 8 treatments are required, spaced at approximately 8 weekly, for optimal results.

During your Laser Hair Removal Treatment our Laser Practitioner will apply a cool gel onto the skin immediately before treatment, to cool the area, and to make the experience as comfortable as possible. They will then select the most appropriate settings on the machine, for your skin and hair type, to give you optimal results at maximum comfort.

Once the machine settings have been selected our Laser Hair Removal practitioner will then pass our Medical-Grade Lynton Laser machine over the skin. The light from the laser is attracted to Melanin in the hair, where it is absorbed and converted into heat energy, causing irreversible damage to the hair follicle without damaging the skin in the surrounding area.

Once your Laser Hair Removal treatment is complete, the cool gel will be removed from the skin and our premium Lynton Light Soothe Cream will be applied to keep the skin hydrated and supple, whilst drawing out any residual heat.

Immediately following Laser Hair Removal you may experience some slight redness of the skin and swelling of the hair follicles (Follicular Edema). This is completely normal and usually goes away in a couple of hours.

In most cases you can expect the hairs to begin to shed 1 to 3 weeks after treatment. During this phase you may experience hairs that fall out in the shower, or simply the hairs do not reappear after shaving. The amount of shedding from Laser Hair Removal varies from person to person and can depend on a variety of factors such as hair thickness and number of treatment received.

• No Fake Tan or Real Tan in the area to be treated.
• Shave the area 24 hours before treatment.
• Do not wax, epilate or pluck for at least 2 weeks prior.
• Avoid the use of any harsh Retinols for 2 weeks.
• Ensure the area is clean on the day and free from any Moisturisers, SPF, Make-up, Perfume & Deodorant.

• Avoid direct Sun Exposure for 2 weeks. Use a high SPF.
• Avoid Heat and Sweating  for 24-48 hours after treatment, e.g hot showers, saunas, steam rooms, and intense exercise.
• Avoid harsh products such as retinols and exfoliants.
• Do not wax, pluck, epilate or use hair removal creams on the area.
