What is Rosacea?
Rosacea is a chronic and often misunderstood skin condition that primarily affects the face. It is characterised by persistent redness, visible blood vessels, and flare-ups of bumps or white spots that resemble acne. Rosacea most commonly occurs on the cheeks, nose, forehead, and chin, and can sometimes affect the eyes, causing them to feel dry, irritated, or appear bloodshot, a condition known as ocular rosacea.
What causes Rosacea?
Though the exact cause of rosacea remains unknown, experts believe it is linked to a combination of genetic and environmental factors. It is most common in adults between the ages of 30 and 50, particularly in those with fair skin however, it can affect anyone. If remained untreated rosacea can worsen over time leading to more pronounced redness, skin thickening and increased discomfort.
Rosacea Flare-ups can often be triggered by external factors such as sun exposure, extreme temperatures, wind, stress, hot or spicy foods, alcohol, and some skincare products. Triggers for each individual can vary, meaning managing the condition is a personalised process.

HOW DOES IPL TREATMENT WORK?
Our Medical-Grade, NHS-Approved, IPL therapy offers a highly effective solution for managing the signs of rosacea. By targeting the underlying blood vessels responsible for redness and visible capillaries associated with rosacea, our Gold-Standard IPL machine emits precise pulses of light that reduces inflammation and minimises vascular lesions.
The light energy emitted from our Lynton IPL machine is absorbed by the excess blood vessels, causing them to vaporise instantly and gradually fade away resulting in a more even skin tone. IPL also helps to calm and soothe the skin, reducing the overall appearance of redness and irritation caused by Rosacea.
Here, at The Laser Lounge we offer Full Face Rosacea Treatments as well as more targeted treatments for problem areas. To see our full range of Rosacea treatments just click the button below and view under our 'Skin Concern' or Deluxe Facials' menu.
